Ashley graduated from Dalhousie University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career at the IWK Health Centre, working in the postpartum unit, where she cared for moms and newborns during the early stages of their journey together.
In 2020, Ashley moved to the Musquodoboit area with a mission to establish roots within the community with her two daughters.
Inspired to embrace a new chapter, she transitioned her focus in 2022 and joined The Birches, where she developed a deep passion for working with the elderly.
Recognized for her dedication and leadership, Ashley was appointed her new role in May 2024. She continues to bring compassion and expertise to her role, ensuring residents receive the highest level of care.
Suzanne Wamboldt

Suzanne Wamboldt oversees committed teams that enrich residents’ lives at The Birches and Ocean View Continuing Care Centre.
Suzanne’s 30 years of experience as a Physiotherapist, in addition to her clinical and managerial experience in public and private healthcare in Canada and the USA, seniors home care, and disability management.
Suzanne strives to focus on processes that create efficiencies; allowing all staff more time to serve residents. She strongly believes in taking the time to listen and understand residents’ life stories and how past experiences impact their behaviour and preferences when living at our homes.

Director of Operations
With 39 years of Healthcare Management experience in Acute and Long-Term care, Jacob is a seasoned leader recognized for his commitment to excellence, critical thinking, and outstanding communication skills. As a facilitator and public speaker, Jacob excels in building strong teams, fostering innovation, and driving performance through strategic vision and operational execution.
Jacob facilitates several teams and committees at Ocean View and The Birches with expertise spanning environmental services, maintenance, laundry, food services, human resources, labor relations, management competencies, and emergency preparedness.
He has a proven track record of leading complex initiatives, including securing funding for capital improvements, negotiating provincial contracts and collective agreements, and achieving accreditation status for facilities.
Passionate about continuous improvement, Jacob is dedicated to enhancing patient care and service delivery by empowering his team, leveraging their skills, and always putting the resident first.

Steve Vincent

Director, Finance
Steve joined Ocean View in February of 2016 as the Director of Finance. With his CPA designation for 25 years, Steve brings senior management and financial experience from several industries, including public accounting, cooperatives, owner-manager businesses, as well as government organizations.
Steve also brings to the table the ability to streamline processes, manage costs, prepare budgets and cash flow, and explore and evaluate new opportunities and systems.
Steve leads the Finance team at Ocean View and The Birches. He is passionate about not only leading a team who assists residents and their families, but also ensuring the organization effectively uses and has resources to carry out its work towards its goals and in line with its values. Steve and his team are very innovative and proactively looks to find new solutions, processes and resources to grow the organization.
